Athletes Trade Helmets for Sequins on Talent Contest

After two decades of pro football, former wide receiver Jerry Rice could have gone quietly into retirement, hanging out in the broadcast booth, putting in appearances at charity events and playing a lot of golf.
Instead he waltzed his way back onto center stage, showing off his moves on ABC's "Dancing with the Stars." Rice, the first football great to appear on the popular ballroom dance-off, narrowly lost to Drew Lachey in the second season.
"People really got a chance to see my personality," Rice told the Post. "For 20 years, you have that uniform on and they don't see your face."
Now, Rice has his own Sirius satellite radio show; a bestselling book "Go Long!: My Journey Beyond the Game and a family-friendly reality show, "Jerry's Dream Team," that will debut on TLC this month.
